Proxima Colony was a Human settlement located near Earth.

In an alternate timeline, created by Jonathan Archer being infected by interspatial parasites, the Xindi destroyed Earth in 2154 and then proceeded to annihilate all other Human settlements. (ENT: "Twilight")

In 2154, after a group of Human Augments commandeered a Klingon Bird-of-Prey and murdered the crew, a Klingon warship was spotted near Proxima colony, possibly conducting reconnaissance for a future strike against Humanity. (ENT: "Borderland")

Later that year, Rigelians were hired by the Klingons to kidnap Doctor Phlox and transport him to Qu'Vat Colony. The Rigelians filed a false flight plan listing Proxima colony as their destination. (ENT: "Affliction")

In the final draft script of "Borderland", the name of this settlement was formatted "Proxima colony". However, the name was formatted with its two initials capitalized in the final draft script of "Affliction".

Although this colony's location was never established on screen, it shares its name with Proxima Centauri, a star of the Alpha Centauri trinary system. The Star Trek Encyclopedia, 4th ed., vol. 2, p. 186 located this colony on a planet orbiting the red dwarf Proxima Centauri. According to the Stellar Cartography: The Starfleet Reference Library ("Federation Historical Highlights, 2161-2385"), Proxima (Alpha Centauri IV, Velestus) was an inhabited planet in the Proxima Centauri star system. This planet had two moons, named Nykos and Tharon. The Proxima colony was founded on this planet in 2085. In 2161, this planet was a founding member of the UFP. In the late 24th century, the capitals of this world were Cochrane and Tarola'n. The primary species of this planet was Human, with a population of 380 million.

In 2016 the real world exoplanet of Proxima b was discovered in orbit of Proxima Centauri, making it even more likely for the location of Proxima colony in future material.
