R.D. Knox, also known as Ronnie Knox, worked as chief lighting technician on Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.

His name can be seen on the dedication plaque of the USS Valiant in the DS9 sixth season episode "Valiant" and on an okudagram in the TNG seventh season episode "Inheritance".

Knox also worked as chief lighting technician on the television drama The Whereabouts of Jenny (1991, along with William Jay Gahret, Steve Gausche, and Kris Krosskove) and as gaffer on Smart House (1999, directed by LeVar Burton and along with James "Spud" Danicic and Pernell Youngblood Tyus) and the television series That '70s Show (1998-1999, starring Kurtwood Smith and Don Stark).
