The RMS Titanic was an ancient Earth steamship. Its engineers constructed it with a series of special bulkheads, in a structure resembling a honeycomb, that could lower into place in case of a major hull breach. This allowed the ship to stay afloat even with half the ship filled with water.
Nonetheless, the ship sank.
In an alternate 2374, Lieutenant Tom Paris of the starship USS Voyager created transverse bulkheads based on the Titanic to strengthen the ship's hull after successive Krenim attacks. When Captain Janeway reminded Paris of the Titanic's fate, he assured her he had improved the design. (VOY: "Year of Hell")

In Star Trek: Lower Decks, Issue 5 (2024), Lieutenant JGs Beckett Mariner, Brad Boimler, D'Vana Tendi, Sam Rutherford, and T'Lyn were taken to the Titanic by the Krulmuth-B portal.
