Ships at the starting line of a race
Racing was a competitive sport that involved at least two people, whose objective was to reach a specific location before the other person did, so as to win the race.
Races could be between runners who raced on foot, or such races could also be on horseback or in a particular vehicle, such as a race car for drag racing.
In 2377, the Antarian Trans-stellar Rally was a racing event that involved ships travelling at sublight velocities in the Delta Quadrant. The Delta Flyer from the USS Voyager participated in that race. (VOY: "Drive")
In 2380, after disolving trial by combat, Gernba decided that the Gelrakians would instead subject those accused of crimes to death races with crystal cars. (LD: "Temporal Edict")
