Ralph Byers (born 10 January 1950; age 70) is the actor from Washington, DC, who played one of the Enterprise crewmembers in Star Trek: The Motion Picture. [1]

Byers has guest-starred on television series such as Charlie's Angels (1977), Kojak (1978), The White Shadow (1979, with Michael Pataki and Joan Pringle), Nurse (1981, with William Sadler), and Kate & Allie (1987). He also appeared in multiple episodes of Law & Order, working with fellow Star Trek performers Zach Grenier, Jordan Lund, David Spielberg, and Fritz Weaver.

In addition, Byers was a regular on the long-running CBS daytime drama Search for Tomorrow, first in 1980 and again (as a different character) in 1985. He also had a recurring role on The Edge of Night, another long-running soap opera. He appeared on this series during its last two years, in 1983 and 1984.

His resume also includes the 1979 mini-series Blind Ambition (co-starring K Callan, Graham Jarvis, Alan Oppenheimer, Lawrence Pressman, Logan Ramsey, William Schallert, James Sloyan, and William Windom) and the made-for-TV movies Concealed Enemies (1984, with Saul Rubinek) and George Washington II: The Forging of a Nation (1986, with Daniel Davis, Paul Collins, Richard Fancy, Jonathan Farwell, Nicholas Kepros, and Chuck Hicks). His feature film credits include two projects starring Harrison Ford: the 1988 comedy Working Girl (with Timothy Carhart, Robert Easton, Zach Grenier, and Jeffrey Nordling) and the 1991 drama Regarding Henry (written by J.J. Abrams and featuring appearances by Abrams and Marjorie Monaghan).

Most recently, Byers has lent his voice to video games such as The Longest Journey (1999, with Nicole Orth-Pallavicini), Batman: Dark Tomorrow (2001), and Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne (2003)
