Randy J. Goodwin (born 24 December 1967; age 57) is an actor who played Jae Hwang in the Star Trek: Picard third season episodes "Disengage" and "The Last Generation", the latter being only a voice role.
Goodwin is best known for his recurring roles as David Hamilton in the comedy series Girlfriends (2000-04, starring Golden Brooks, with Kelsey Grammer) and as Dr. Jonas Martin in The Vampire Diaries (2010-11, starring Paul Wesley, with Mia Kirshner).
He also co-starred in Fast Track (1997-98, starring Keith Carradine and Fred Williamson) and Abby (2003, with Michelle Phillips), and had a recurring role in Linc's (1998-2000, starring Golden Brooks).
He appeared in guest roles on series such as Martial Law (with Tom Wright), Nash Bridges (with Daniel Roebuck), The Pretender (with Enrique Murciano, directed by Terrence O'Hara), 24 (with Leslie Hope, Henri Lubatti, Penny Johnson, and Jason Matthew Smith), CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (starring Paul Guilfoyle, with Susan Diol), Whoopi Goldberg’s Strong Medicine (2004,starring Jenifer Lewis, with Larry Cedar, Michelle Krusiec, Irene Tsu, and Keone Young), NCIS (with Leon Russom, Barbara J. Tarbuck, Tim Kelleher, and Rudolf Martin), CSI: Miami (with Willie Garson), The Mentalist, Grey's Anatomy (with Wallace Langham), The Rookie (with Jamison Yang), and 9-1-1 (with Freda Foh Shen and Tom Wright).
Goodwin also appeared in a small number of films. These include a supporting role in American History X (1998, featuring Avery Brooks, Jennifer Lien, Antonio David Lyons, Jim Norton, Debra Wilson, Kiante Elam, Paul E. Short, and Denney Pierce). He also had roles in Down 'n Dirty (2000, with Charles Napier, Bill Irwin, and Gene LeBell), the Hallmark Channel TV movie Annie Claus is Coming to Town (2011, with Matt Winston and Stephanie Erb), The Holy Man (2016, with Paul Dooley and Carolyn Hennesy), and Ernesto's Manifesto (2019). In 2021, Goodwin directed, co-wrote and starred in the independent crime drama film The Job.
