Regula I was one of numerous postings where Starfleet Academy cadets were transferred to during Nero's attack on Vulcan in 2258 in the alternate reality. A shuttlecraft carried Cadet Fugeman from Hangar 1 on Earth to his assignment on Regula I. (Star Trek)
It was not specified, in Star Trek, if Regula I was the name of a space station, like its counterpart in the prime reality, or the name of one of the starships sent on the rescue mission.
The Star Trek Encyclopedia, 4th ed., vol. 2, p. 212 described Regula I as a Starfleet facility.
