A resonance pulse, or depolarization pulse, was an energetic discharge which could be created using a starship's deflector dish or the tractor beam emitters.

In 2372, after the USS Voyager was duplicated by an encounter with a subspace divergence field, the two crews attempted to merge the ships by recreating the field and then using two simultaneous resonance pulses to depolarize it. The plan failed, however, when the plasma flow became too turbulent due to the chaotic nature of the divergence fields. (VOY: "Deadlock")

In 2376, a Turei vessel targeted Voyager's shields with a resonance pulse, altering the harmonics in such a way as to push Voyager out of a network of subspace corridors into which they had inadvertently been pulled. (VOY: "Dragon's Teeth")

In 2378, two Hierarchy renegades extorted the The Doctor into disguising himself as Captain Kathryn Janeway and stealing Voyager's warp core. As Janeway, The Doctor asked B'Elanna Torres whether there was a way to tractor the core safely at warp. Torres replied that she could modify the tractor beam emitters to emit a resonance pulse that would stabilize the core's containment field. (VOY: "Renaissance Man")
