Richard Espinoza was the Second Assistant Director (2nd AD) of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan.
Espinoza was also a 2nd AD on such films as The Blues Brothers (featuring Henry Gibson and Charles Napier), Yellowbard (featuring Kenneth Mars) and Up the Creek (directed by Robert Butler and featuring James B. Sikking). As a 1st AD, he worked on such films as Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins (starring Joel Grey, Patrick Kilpatrick, and Kate Mulgrew) and Dr. Giggles (co-written and directed by Manny Coto and starring Larry Drake, Cliff DeYoung, William Dennis Hunt, and John Vickery).
Espinoza and DS9/VOY director Jesús Salvador Treviño won a Directors Guild of America (DGA) Award for their work on the "Gangs" episode of the CBS Schoolbreak Special. Espinoza's other television credits as a 1st AD include Alfred Hitchcock Presents, Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman, and 7th Heaven. The latter series featured Stephen Collins and Catherine Hicks in the regular cast.
