In 2364 he held the rank of captain and was the commanding officer of the USS Tranquility Base. In that year, prior to stardate 41775, his starship was patrolling the Neutral Zone. Later, he received a mission order about modifications to the ship's patrol duties from Commodore Joshua Jae of Starfleet Mission Operations Division. (TNG: "Conspiracy")
