The Ring cycle is a cycle of four operas, only mentioned in a scene in the script for the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode "The Inner Light". [1]

The Ring cycle was said to be composed by Wagner, and take nine hours to watch in one sitting. Jean-Luc Picard and Fleet Admiral Gustafson once saw it together, and the next day Gustafson went back to see it again.

One classical masterpiece that was part of the Ring cycle, "Ride of the Valkyries," heard in Apocalypse Now from the maker of the Star Trek franchise, Paramount Pictures, can be heard on a Paramount Home Entertainment preview for the Star Trek Video Collection which was found on the Star Trek: First Contact, Star Trek: Insurrection, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine videos, and strangely enough, on the video release of Good Burger from a subsidiary of what was once the parent company of Star Trek's studio until 31 December 2005 that is not part of the Star Trek video collection.
