One of the Rings
The Rings of Paltriss were valuable Yridian rings created by Paltriss. Paltriss created eighty of them, each one considered a work of art, but over time they were removed from the Yridian homeworld.
In 2370, Quark came into possession of forty-two of the rings and attempted to sell them to Ashrock. Quark later did sell the Rings to Ashrock, but the Yridian was murdered by Fallit Kot, an old business partner of Quark. Kot took the rings and hijacked a runabout. (DS9: "Melora")
