Rita was an unseen character from the Earth novel Hotel Royale by Todd Matthews.
She was the girlfriend of Mickey D and the object of affection of the hotel's bellboy. Despite warnings from assistant manager, the bellboy pursued his interest in Rita and was murdered by Mickey D. (TNG: "The Royale")
