Robert Kato DeStefan (born 6 March 1967; age 57) is a special make-up effects artist who worked on the specialty costume crew on Star Trek as part of Quantum Creation FX.

DeStefan started as artist for XFX Inc. and worked in the special effects department for films such as Suburban Commando (1991, along Brian Sipe, Joel Harlow, and Mike Smithson), Batman Returns (1992, alongside Greg Cannom, Ve Neill, Greg Nelson, and Yolanda Toussieng), Pet Sematary II (1992), and RoboCop 3 (1993).

He joined Steve Johnson's XFX and later Quantum Creation FX and worked on such movies as Zoolander (2001), Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007), Boogeyman 2 (2007), I Am Legend (2007), Stargate: The Ark of Truth (2008), Superhero Movie (2008), and The Happening (2008).

DeStefan also worked on Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever (2008), Underworld: Rise of the Lycans (2009, alongside Richard Redlefsen), Watchmen (2009, starring Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Stephen McHattie), and G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra (2009, with Rachel Nichols).

In 2010, Kato did Anton Yelchin's make-up for Like Crazy. More recent credits include The Last Airbender (2010) and Tron: Legacy (2010).

In 2011, Kato was the Make-up Department Second for Dragon Age: Redemption, a web series written by and starring Felicia Day. It was there that he did the make-up application on Michael Muñoz, a Star Trek alumni.
