Real world article
(written from a production point of view)
Robert Kline was an artist with Filmation who worked as an art designer and storyboard artist on both seasons of Star Trek: The Animated Series. He was primarily responsible for designing all of the alien beings, ships and landscapes for the series. He was a fan of Star Trek: The Original Series prior to working on The Animated Series, which turned out to be his very first professional assignment in the industry, [1] but for which he did not receive an official credit – explaining to an extent why he was not credited with it on his IMDb entry.
An animated version of Kline appeared as a sciences division lieutenant in the episode "The Terratin Incident". (Star Trek: The Official Guide to the Animated Series, p. 85)
