A Rolodex was an Earth device used in the mid- to late 20th century to keep track of information, and was mainly used for easy retrieval of personal contact information.
An officer at Starbase 80 used a Rolodex in 2381 to search on the location of Ensign Beckett Mariner, rather than making a standard computer search. (LD: "Trusted Sources")
