In 2370, Lieutenant Ro Laren was sent to Ronara on an undercover mission to infiltrate the Maquis. She was masquerading as a Starfleet fugitive, and successfully caught the attention of Santos, who brought her to a Maquis colony. (TNG: "Preemptive Strike")

The name of this planet was from the script. Both StarTrek.com and the Star Trek Encyclopedia (4th ed., vol. 2, p. 237) classified Ronara Prime as a M-class planet.
According to the script, the pronunciation of Ronara was "ruh-NAH-ruh". [1]
The matte painting of the Ronara Prime surface was originally used in DS9: "Shadowplay" to represent Yadera II.
According to Star Trek: Star Charts (p. 47, "United Federation of Planets I") and Stellar Cartography: The Starfleet Reference Library ("Federation Historical Highlights, 2161-2385"), the Ronara system was located in the Alpha Quadrant. The system's primary was a F-class star. By 2378, Ronara Prime had become a Federation member.
