Room service was a service which provided individuals with food and beverages delivered right to their hotel room.

In 2153, Hoshi Sato brought food, angel hair pasta for Phlox and Vulcan sandworms for his Pyrithian bat, on a tray to sickbay and wanted to spend some time with Phlox. She entered the room saying "room service" but was sent out by Phlox who thought he could be of danger for her because of his assimilation by a Borg. (ENT: "Regeneration")

While stranded during a scientific mission on the surface of Alfa 177, Hikaru Sulu jokingly referred to the USS Enterprise as room service because their coffee was delayed. (TOS: "The Enemy Within")

During an away mission on the planet Theta VIII in 2365, the away team took part in a recreation of the book Hotel Royale. In one of the hotel rooms, the telephone was ringing and when Worf answered it, a woman was asking him if he wanted room service. Not understanding the concept, Data stated he believed that she was asking if they wanted the room cleaned. Riker said to tell her "no" and when Worf did so, she responded that the kitchen would be open 24 hours if they changed their minds. (TNG: "The Royale")

After crashed on a planet in Dominion space, Jadzia Dax was wounded and ordered by Doctor Julian Bashir to stay inside a cave. Dax was not very delighted she had to stare on the cave ceiling for the rest of the stay but Benjamin Sisko told her this would also include a twenty-four hour room service. (DS9: "Rocks and Shoals")

When Q appeared in Kathryn Janeway's quarters aboard the USS Voyager in 2373, Janeway informed Starfleet Security and reported intruder alert. Q then told her that there was no need to order room service, he already did. (VOY: "The Q and the Grey")

In 2374, Dax and Worf discussed their honeymoon plans while she was stranded and injured with him. Dax insisted they have room service for their honeymoon and no hiking, climbing, and sweating. She was "up for to be pampered. I want a staff to cater to our every whim. I want to be embarrassed by the size of our room. I want a balcony with a view that would make you want to break down and cry from the sheer beauty of it all. And I don't want to spend one moment of our honeymoon suffering from anything except guilt about our complete self-indulgence." (DS9: "Change of Heart")
