Sabik, also known as Eta Ophiuchi, was a star system in the Alpha Quadrant. This binary star system was a component of the WDS J17104-1544 system, which itself was a quaternary star system. The stars of this binary star system were WDS J17104-1544A and WDS J17104-1544B. (PIC: "Disengage")
Stellar Cartography[]
The Sabik system was visible from Earth in the constellation Ophiuchus. It was approximately 88 light years from Sol.
In 2401, Sabik's location was labeled on a star chart used aboard the SS Eleos XII. (PIC: "Disengage")
In 3191, this system's location was labeled on a star chart. (DIS: "Red Directive")
This star system was only mentioned in writing.
The location of this star system was seen on the bridge of the SS Eleos XII on what appears to be an updated chart from Star Trek: Star Charts. Dave Blass published pictures of the set on his website.
Information on this system was derived from the episodes and films, from the reference works Star Trek: Star Charts and Stellar Cartography: The Starfleet Reference Library, and from real world sources. The reference works were used extensively in the creation of star charts seen in Star Trek: Discovery, Star Trek: Picard, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, Star Trek: Prodigy, and Star Trek: Lower Decks.
