Salvador Dalí was a 20th century Spanish artist from Earth, a painter and film-maker who was influential in the surrealism movement.
Among the most famous of his paintings was The Persistence of Memory, which the collector Kivas Fajo possessed in 2366, despite having little artistic interest in it. The same painting inspired the name of the Dali Paradox in temporal mechanics. (TNG: "The Most Toys"; VOY: "Relativity")
According to the Star Trek Encyclopedia (4th ed., vol. 1, p. 178), the birth and death years of Salvador Dalí were 1904 and 1989, respectively.
