A Sandstorm is a type of storm which occurs when a strong atmosphereic disturbance cause sand or dirt to become airborne.
On Tarchannen III, sandstorms are a frequent occurance. During an investigation on the planet, Lieutenant Commander Data theorized that an absense of footprints was due to a sandstorm. (TNG: "Identity Crisis")
