The Santa Ana winds were strong gusts of wind that brought dry air in from the Great Basin to Southern California each fall. These winds contributed to the conditions that created wildfires.

In an article about wildfires in Los Angeles County in the January 21, 2024, issue of the Los Angeles Times, Dr. Fengpeng Sun gave a description of these winds. (PIC: "Watcher")

This occurrence was only mentioned in writing.
A portion of the article seen in the episode is a copy of sections from the online document "What Makes California So Susceptible to Wildfires?", which is available from the eco-friendly fashion shop Earthling. The relevant sections were "Fire Suppression" and "Santa Ana Winds". [1]
In the article, a study written by Dr. Sun and others identified the Santa Ana winds as the driver of a second fire season. This season ran from October to April.
