Sarpedion V pointed out
Sarpedion V was the fifth planet of its star system. This planet was the headquarters of the Cardassian Twelfth Order and one of the most heavily fortified positions in the Cardassian Union during the Dominion War. During the Dominion War, it was considered that a direct assault by fifteen Vor'cha-class attack cruisers would barely scratch the planet's defenses.
In 2375, Chancellor Gowron suggested that it should be the Klingons' next target despite the objections of General Martok and Commander Worf. Ultimately, Sarpedion was not attacked, as Gowron was killed by Worf in ritual combat shortly thereafter. (DS9: "Tacking Into the Wind")
The map on which Gowron pointed out the planet appeared to be a Klingon analogue to a map also seen on Federation displays. Because of this, despite the Klingon writing, the blob to the left of Sarpedion can be identified as the Badlands, and AR-558 and Starbase 375 would also appear to be close.
According to Star Trek: Star Charts (p. 46) and Stellar Cartography: The Starfleet Reference Library ("Stellar Cartography", pp. 18-19; "Federation Historical Highlights, 2161-2385"), the Sarpedion system was located in the Alpha Quadrant. This was a binary system with a G-class star and a M-class star. According to a map of the Cardassian Union – prepared by an anonymous astrography clerk, from the Cardassian Central Archives, in 2364 – Sarpedion was identified as a Cardassian system.
