Scott Alan Smith (born 8 November 1961; age 64) is the actor who played Doyle in the Star Trek: Voyager seventh season episode "Repression".
One of his earliest acting appearances was in Running Mates (1992, starring fellow Voyager guest actor Ed Begley, Jr.). In 1994, he appeared in another TV movie, called A Time to Heal, featuring Tim Ransom. That same year, he appeared in Amelia Earhart: The Final Flight, with Paul Guilfoyle and Warren Munson, and in 1996, he and Stephanie Niznik played reporters in Apollo 11 (1996, with Matt Frewer, Wendie Malick and Tim Kelleher).
In 2003, he co-starred as Press Secretary Ari Fleischer in DC 9/11: Time of Crisis, which also featured Penny Johnson, Stephen Macht, Lawrence Pressman, and Star Trek: The Original Series star George Takei.
His motion picture credits include Stargate (1994, with Leon Rippy, Erick Avari, Frank Welker, and Richard Kind), The X-Files (1998, starring Gillian Anderson, with Martin Landau, John Neville, Terry O'Quinn and George Murdock), Magnolia (1999, with Pat Healy, Henry Gibson, and Jim Beaver), Rules of Engagement (2000, with David Graf), and Bewitched (2005).
Besides a recurring role on Philly (with Ron Canada), he also appeared in 7th Heaven (1999, starring Catherine Hicks and Stephen Collins, with Kerrie Keane and Maureen Flannigan), and Boston Legal (2004, starring William Shatner and René Auberjonois).
