- Announced at the Shore Leave convention on 11 July 2008, the anthology was originally scheduled for release in November 2009. Its title was revealed by Margaret Clark on 31 December 2008, along with the announcement of George and Pearson's involvement and the project's delay to Summer 2010. Keith R.A. DeCandido revealed the involvement of Mollmann and Schuster on 2 January 2009. A release month of December 2010 was confirmed in February 2010.
- Memory Alpha receives an acknowledgment from the authors in "The Tears of Eridanus" and "Honor in the Night".
