Sheldon Peters Wolfchild (born 14 December 1946; age 77) is the actor who played Joe Falling Hawk in the Star Trek: The Next Generation fifth season episode "Time's Arrow".

Wolfchild belongs to the Lakota tribe of Native Americans. He is the youngest son of noted professional Bantamweight boxer "Indian" Ernie Peters, and is the former spouse of noted songwriter Buffy Sainte-Marie. His acting career began with eight appearances as Sheldon, along with Sainte-Marie and their son, Dakota Starblanket, in Season 8 through Season 11 of Sesame Street (1977-1980).

He later appeared in a number of Western films, including The Avenging (1982, with Mark Margolis and Dan Koko), followed by a role in Dances with Wolves (1990, with Charles Rocket, Wayne Grace, Donald Hotton, and Michael Horton).

On television, he appeared on L.A. Law (1991, with Corbin Bernsen, Larry Drake, Sam Anderson, and Branscombe Richmond), Son of the Morning Star (1991, with Terry O'Quinn, Nick Ramus, Tim Ransom, Robert Schenkkan, and Dean Stockwell), Miracle in the Wilderness (1992, with Kim Cattrall and David Oliver), Squanto: A Warrior's Tale (1994, with Mark Margolis).

Following his appearance on The Next Generation, he appeared in 3 Ninjas Knuckle Up (1995, with Charles Napier, Patrick Kilpatrick, Nick Ramus, Vincent Schiavelli, Don Stark, Michael Hungerford, Gary Epper, and Jeff Cadiente), Walker, Texas Ranger (1995, starring Clarence Gilyard, Jr. and Noble Willingham, with Nick Ramus), 500 Nations (1995, with Castulo Guerra, Tony Plana, Patrick Stewart, Tom Jackson, Frank Salsedo, and Kurtwood Smith), the drama The Scarlet Letter (1995, with George Aguilar, Diane Salinger, and Larissa Laskin), and Crazy Horse (1996).

Later projects included more comedy-themed productions, including an episode of The Gale Whitman Show (2003) and the romance comedy Cold Feet (2008).

In 2014, he produced and directed two documentaries, The Doctrine of Discovery: Unmasking the Domination Code and Star Dreamers, the latter of which he wrote and is still in post-production phase.
