The Shiller rating was a measurement of a certain characteristic of asteroid belts.
In 2266, the starship USS Enterprise chased Harry Mudd into an asteroid belt whose Shiller rating was three-five. Upon learning of the belt's rating, James T. Kirk ordered Farrell to activate the Enterprise's deflector shields as they approached the asteroid belt. (TOS: "Mudd's Women")
