Following the near-defeat of the United Federation of Planets in the Federation-Klingon War, Shukar was among Admiral Katrina Cornwell's retinue. When the USS Discovery returned from the mirror universe, Shukar, together with Gorch, boarded the ship and secured the bridge before Cornwell and Ambassador Sarek transported aboard. (DIS: "The War Without, The War Within")
Shukar was later consulted via holographic communication by Cornwell after she, Sarek, and Emperor Philippa Georgiou devised a plan to end the war by striking the Klingon home planet, Qo'noS directly. (DIS: "The War Without, The War Within")
After the cessation of hostilities, Shukar was present in Paris on Earth when the crew of the Discovery was honored for their role in ending the war. (DIS: "Will You Take My Hand?")

Shukar was played by actor Riley Gilchrist. The prime universe Shukar appeared on screen only after his mirror universe counterpart. He also played a third Andorian character, an Andorian Admiral in "If Memory Serves".
