Sigma Draconis VIII was the eighth planet in the Sigma Draconis system. The planet was located in the Alpha Quadrant and was approximately 19 light years from Sol. This planet's orbit brought it close to the orbital path of Sigma Draconis IX. This was one of six planets in this system that was not classified as M class.
The position and orbital path of Sigma Draconis VIII were depicted on a system map that was displayed on the main viewscreen of the USS Enterprise bridge in 2268. (TOS: "Spock's Brain")
This planet's quadrant of origin was inferred based on the position of its star system as seen in the star chart appearing in the Star Trek: Picard episode "Maps and Legends".
In the Star Trek: Star Charts (pp. 18, 19, 44) and Stellar Cartography: The Starfleet Reference Library ("Federation Historical Highlights, 2161-2385"), the Sigma Draconis system was located in Sector 004 (Sigma Draconis sector). This was a Federation system in the late 24th century.
