A sinoraptor is a fierce animal probably native to Bajor.
During the Occupation of Bajor, members of the Shakaar Resistance Cell were reluctant to allow young Kira Nerys to join. However, according to Lupaza, the girl had the heart of a sinoraptor and they had no choice. (DS9: "Shakaar")
Background
As most people know, raptor means "bird of prey", but it is unclear if writers chose the prefix sino, which normally means "Chinese", intentionally. If so, it was likely an inside joke.
