Smallbridge was an Old Britain location in the 20th century-novel Commodore Hornblower.
The character of Horatio Hornblower moved to Smallbridge early in the novel, together with his wife Barbara Wellesley. The couple was greeted by a chorus, before the village's parson gave a welcome speech to them. (DS9: "The Visitor", "The Muse", "For the Cause")
