Solin was the chief engineer of the Vulcan D'kyr-type combat cruiser Seleya.
Like the rest of his crew, he was driven mad, in 2153, by exposure to a trellium-D asteroid field; he attacked an Enterprise NX-01 boarding party in sickbay. The medical scans taken of Solin while he was held restrained in the isolation pod in sickbay aboard the Seleya allowed Doctor Phlox to decipher what had driven the Seleya crew mad.
Solin was killed along with the rest of the Seleya crew when Captain Archer triggered an overload in their power grid, destroying the Vulcan starship. (ENT: "Impulse")
Solin was played by an unknown actor.
In the final draft script of "Impulse", Solin was described as a "grotesque [but] […] once-proud Vulcan" who now had "a grotesque face".
