Somalia was a country on Earth. Its capital city was Mogadishu. By the 24th century, it was part of the African Confederation.
Geordi La Forge was born in the country on February 16th, 2335. (TNG: "Cause and Effect")
The remastered version of La Forge's medical record in "Cause and Effect" establishes his place of birth as Mogadishu.
