Son'a uniforms were the uniforms worn by personnel of the Son'a Command and its subject races, the Tarlac and the Ellora. (Star Trek: Insurrection)

Standard uniform[]

Son'a uniforms consisted of a synthetic material jumpsuit with a textured pattern across the shoulders, worn with a fabric vest, knee-high boots, and gloves. Some Son'a wore scarves to hide the seams of their skin-stretching surgery. The uniform included sets of four metal cinches around their boots and torsos, with the number of cinches over each shoulder (between one and four) indicating rank, such as two for subahdar, and four for ahdar. (Star Trek: Insurrection)

A number of Son'a uniforms were sold as part of the It's A Wrap! sale and auction. [1](X) [2](X) [3](X) [4](X) [5](X) [6](X) [7](X) [8](X) [9](X) [10](X)

Background information[]

The Son'a uniforms were designed by Star Trek Insurrection costume designer Sanja Milkovic Hays. To intentionally contrast with the peaceful, nature-loving Ba'ku, Hays collaborated with Rick Berman and Jonathan Frakes to develop uniforms with "a military feel, while maintaining a certain richness of fabric and metals for their materialistic culture." The uniforms were produced Studio Art Metal with input from Maggie Schpak. Hays added ribcage cinches to indicate rank. (Star Trek: Costumes, p. 164)

The script originally called for Son'a "foot soldiers", which were replaced by the Tarlac and Ellora. To differentiate the Tarlac and Ellora from afar, their uniforms were colored "dusty plum" and "blue." (The Secrets of Star Trek: Insurrection, p. 110) The subjugated Tarlac soldier uniforms were intentionally similar to their "Son'a masters." (Star Trek: Costumes, p. 167)

A costume identified as a Son'a doctor's uniform was also sold as part of It's A Wrap! sale and auction, distinguished by a brighter peach pattern around the shoulders, and rank cinches only over the left shoulder. [15](X)
