Sony was the manufacturer of television sets in the late 20th century.

In 1986, a set, purchased by the Cetacean Institute, was used for the airing of a whaling documentary. This documentary was part of the tour package at this institute, and, on one day, the tour guide was Doctor Gillian Taylor. (Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home)

The name of this manufacturer was visible on the front of the TV set.
