Founded in 1988 the company was based in Delaware, USA and produced games for a wide variety of platforms, primarily focusing on tie-ins for licensed properties such as the Star Trek franchise. On 11 September 2000 after being acquired by TDK they were merged with BWT Labs, a studio that SSI had acquired earlier in 1998 to form TDK Mediactive.
