Species 10026 was the designation for a species that was assimilated by the Borg in 2375. Their civilization's homeworld had 392,000 individuals and advanced spacecraft. The inhabitants of that world sent their vessels to intercept the Borg when they began assimilation. At first Species 10026 used a modulating phaser pulse to successfully damage the Borg attackers. With Seven of Nine's help, the Borg Queen triaxilated the Borg ship's shield geometry to absorb the pulses, thus ending the chances of a defense for the species.

Witnessed by former Borg drone Seven of Nine, the entire species was assimilated by drones from two Borg cubes. With Seven's help, one ship with four individuals (including one partially-assimilated individual) escaped the devastation, but was noticed by the Borg Queen. It was caught in a tractor beam, but was eventually released after Seven pleaded with the Queen. (VOY: "Dark Frontier")

When Species 10026 tried to resist the Borg, their fleet consisted of 39 starships, a familiar number. In 2366, 39 Starfleet ships were destroyed at the Battle of Wolf 359.
While the race was not named on screen they used the same ships as the Nihydron race. Nihydron individuals were never seen on screen.
Species 10026 is the only species referenced to have a five-digit Borg designation.
