The Star Trek: 50th Anniversary Collection, subtitled Musical Rarities from Across the Star Trek Universe, is a collection of episode scores, demos, trailer music and source tracks from the various Star Trek series and films – including the never-before released score from Star Trek: The Animated Series – along with music from Star Trek: Borg and Star Trek: The Experience, and original compositions by Ron Jones.
Produced by La-La Land Records and released in November 2016, the four-disc release – which was limited to 3,000 units – includes a 48-page booklet featuring commentary from Jeff Bond.
The Original Series library music featured in the collection was sourced from recently discovered first-generation master tapes (the equivalent tracks on the Star Trek: The Original Series Soundtrack Collection deriving from second-generation sources). The Animated Series cues were captured from the music tracks for the original episodes, assembled and restored for the release. [1]
