Star Trek: Prodigy Logs is a social media companion to the second half of Star Trek: Prodigy Season 1.

Besides one entry taking place while she is incapacitated, it consists of weekly personal logs of Vice Admiral Kathryn Janeway, commanding officer of the USS Dauntless in short videos released to the social media website Instagram. [1]

According to series writer Aaron J. Waltke:

"Admiral Janeway's weekly logs as she pursues the USS Protostar – unraveling new clues, lore, and Trek canon." [2]

  • (released 9 November 2022, following "Let Sleeping Borg Lie")
    • "Vice Admiral's log, stardate 61293.1.
Despite his unknown species, Dr. Noum has stabilized our mysterious visitor by replicating a serum found nearby. From early tests, Noum believes his physiology may possess energy-based psychokinesis, not unlike some Zalkonians.
Unfortunately, our guest has suffered some kind of neurolytic shock, and is barely conscious. Still, we've gleaned what we can – namely, that dangerous criminals have kidnapped his daughter and stolen The
Protostar. Chakotay's role in all this is yet to be seen. He is a survivor, if nothing else.
But Chakotay would've never allowed what happened to Relay Station CR-721. Such wanton devastation... nothing left but dust and debris... No Starfleet ship should be used as a weapon of conquest. I will find them... and bring them to justice.

  • (released 15 November 2022, following "All the World's a Stage")
    • "Vice Admiral's log, stardate 61301.1. We've made steady progress with our recovering amnesiac. He's provided what he can, but his memories are fragmented or missing altogether – deeply traumatized by something in his past.
Most importantly, he recognized Chakotay as a prisoner. Perhaps taken by those who stole the
Protostar, kidnapped his daughter, and attacked CR-721.
We've tracking the warp trail of Lieutenant Junior Grade Barniss Frex, the Provisional Chief of Operations of the destroyed relay station. Despite his less-than-stellar Starfleet record, he may know the rogue
Protostar's next moves before they strike again. Puzzling unknowns. Thieving marauders. I swear, it feels like the 2370s all over again...
Only this time, I'm stuck without my coffee – no thanks to doctor's orders.
Who can stand drinking tea from a replicator, honestly?

  • (released 22 November 2022, following "Crossroads")
    • "Vice Admiral's log, stardate 61326.1.
      We've found them.
It was during a rendezvous at Denaxi Depot – the only habitable outpost within three sectors. Like a watering hole in the arid desert, it's drawn the worst in the Quadrant here... including the outlaws who stole the
Protostar. What Officer Frex failed to mention was their age. Little more than teenagers by Human standards...
But appearances can be deceiving. The Ocampa are adults at 9 years, while those on the Miri homeworld look like children for centuries.
And these thieves are no strangers to deception. Posing as innocent refugees, they deployed an unknown weapon that ripped a Starfleet station to pieces.
      Once we seize the
Protostar, we'll download their logs to the Dauntless and corroborate any lies, per Starfleet regulations.
Despite our best efforts, they escaped into the Neutral Zone. We nearly endangered our fragile truce with the Romulans and the evacuation dealing there. Jean-Luc would've never forgiven me.

  • (released 29 November 2022, following "Masquerade")
    • "Vice Admiral's log, stardate 61368.6. Today was a difficult day. With the Protostar in the Neutral Zone, we could not continue our pursuit without violating our treaty with the Romulans. But it became clear the situation was not so simple...
Rogue factions within the Romulan Tal Shiar were willing to do anything to steal the dangerous technology supposedly aboard the
Protostar. Admiral Jellico has ordered me to disable Chakotay's ship, should it threaten to fall into their hands.
Commander Tysess and Ensign Asencia both proved bold in their counsel – but ultimately, Starfleet's orders superseded. Enabling a war with the
Protostar's destructive potential is not an option. It was a miracle the outlaws aboard the Protostar managed to to escape. I take no pleasure in violence, and am glad it did not come to that. Our last hope of finding Chakotay lies with that ship.
Still, I can't help but wonder what the Tal Shiar's interest in such weaponry could lead to... and what intel they gained from this.

  • (released 6 December 2022, following "Preludes")
    • "Vice Admiral's log, stardate 61396.4.
The truth is never black and white...
Starfleet's Watson subspace network has detected a bounty sent from the asteroid we investigated; a penal colony known as Tars Lamora.
Within were prison records for our young fugitives, "The Unwanted." Dal R'El, Zero, Rok-Tahk... reading between the lines, their actual crimes are minor or non-existent.
Captured by rogue Kazon, hauled across the quadrant by an illicit transwarp network, striped of their rights... then sentenced to work in those forsaken mines.
It pains me to think crippling the Borg all those years ago would leave this power vacuum – a place where such injustices could thrive.
      Perhaps these Unwanted on the
Protostar are not the criminals we thought... and this "Diviner" is our true quarry.
I believe I'm overdue for a serious discussion with our guest.
It's time we know the truth.

    • "Vice Admiral's log, stardate 61401.5.
Error. Error. Cannot comply. No log recorded.

  • (released 20 December 2022, following "Mindwalk")
    • "Vice Admiral's log, stardate 61403.7.
We're on the brink of disaster.
After an unexpected incident swapping neural patterns with Dal R'El on the
Protostar, I've learned just how mistaken we've been...
And I'm left with a splitting headache.
Starfleet is in danger. The weapon aboard their ship is a malevolent device called the Living Construct, sent from an alternate future to destroy us; a Trojan horse designed to hijack Starfleet systems the moment a connection is made.
Then our fleet will tear itself apart.
Thanks to my holographic twin, I now know Chakotay – wherever he is – launched his ship prematurely from enemy hands. Which means the weapon won't activate without a manual uplink from the
      Protostar.
His sacrifice bought us a sliver of hope.
I fear it will be wasted. There are traitors on the
Dauntless – Asencia! – and I'm trapped in the brig, using the security feed to record what happened...
      ...if we survive.

  • (released 27 December 2022, following "Supernova, Part 1")
    • "This is Vice Admiral Janeway – we are under fleetwide Red Alert! Starfleet systems overtaken by enemy forces!
We've lost primary controls – the
Dauntless is coming apart all around us.
I've ordered the crew to abandon ship, evacuating to the few non-Starfleet vessels that haven't yet been targeted by the Living Construct. Klingons, a Gorn trader – even a few Vulcan civilian ships. Their computer systems are isolated from Starfleet's for security reasonss... but who knows how long it will save us.
More Starfleet vessels are arriving by the minute to answer the priority one distress calls, only to be ensnared for destruction. A trap of good intentions, escalating exponentially. Asencia is as devious as she is two-faced.
I must believe Starfleet will endure thiss... but if the signal continues, and the Living Construct adaptss... who knows.
Chakotay, if you're out there... and somehow find this... just know we never stopped searching.
      Fate's hour is upon us.

  • (released 3 January 2023, following "Supernova, Part 2")
    • "Vice Admiral's log, stardate 61408.8.
      A new day dawns.
It's been hardly a week in San Francisco, and the young crew of the
Protostar have already settled into a bold new era of possibilities. Their heroism in the face of astonishing odds has moved even the sternest admirals at Starfleet Command.
Though they could not enroll in the Academy, I have faith that time spent training in a non-commissioned role will serve them well... especially if they still hope to apply one day.
The exception made for Dal has widened the rights of Augments left ambiguous by Bashir v. Starfleet Medical. Times are changing, it seems, especially as we open our minds to the young and the new perspectives they bring.
But the case of Chakotay remains unanswered. The rift created by the
Protostar's detonation – and the alternate future awaiting us on the other side – have been classified by Starfleet under the Temporal Prime Directive.
But that doesn't mean I've given up. We will find you, Chakotay... somehow.
