Star Trek: The Motion Picture - The Director's Edition was the widescreen VHS release of The Director's Edition of Star Trek: The Motion Picture featuring new scenes, enhanced visual effects and a new sound mix. While The Director's Edition was released on DVD worldwide this VHS was released only in North America.

Besides The Director's Edition cut of the film two special features from the DVD release were also included with this VHS release:
- A Bold New Enterprise – A featurette which gives an insight into the creation of the original Star Trek: The Motion Picture.
- Enterprise TV series promo spot – A trailer for Star Trek: Enterprise, which was new at the time of the release of the VHS.
