Episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation are known to have been released on the Betamax format in the UK and Turkey in the late 1980s and in the US in the early 1990s.

UK releases

At least two Betamax tapes were released in the UK by CIC Video around 1988. As with the VHS release of the time these were for the rental market.

US releases

All of the first season as well as some of the second season were released on the Betamax format in the US by Paramount Home Video in the early 1990s before the format was discontinued.

These tapes used the same packaging design as the VHS releases with the only difference being that a "Beta" sticker was applied to each cover.

"Unnatural Selection" is the latest episode known to have a Betamax release, but "A Matter Of Honor" was released at the same time on VHS so a Beta release is quite probable. The next set of VHS episodes was released in 1994 making a Beta release of those unlikely.
