Star Trek: The Original Series - The Complete Series is a DVD box set release containing all three remastered seasons of the series. It is in essence a repackaged re-release of the basic Star Trek: The Original Series - Seasons 1-3 Remastered set, and is the first DVD release of Star Trek: The Original Series in North America since 2008. While also (re-)released in Region 2, most territories there were already served with reissues of the prior Star Trek: The Original Series - The Full Journey set.
The region 2 and 4 sets were released in the second half of 2016 and were endowed with the 50th anniversary sticker on their wrappings, the anniversary being part of the reasons why the UK, Denmark (serving the whole of Scandinavia, Iceland excepted) and Australia chose to reissue the set as such so soon after their respective Full Journey releases.
The discs came packaged in one Epik Pack plastic snapcase in a hardboard slipcase box.
As with the prior 2008 release, the Region 1 contains two extra discs, which however does not constitute extra content; it was due to the fact that Region 1 had the disc contents for the original Season 1 release differently arranged, whereas the other regions followed the more compact arrangement as utilized on their later "slimline" releases.
Six years later, the same set was reissued in Region 1 on the occasion of Star Trek's 55th anniversary in the 25-disc holding Epic Pak plastic snap case, having this time dispensed with the hardboard slipcase. This regular reissue did not see other reissues in any of the other regions, which still had to make do with the 2016 releases.

Still missing though, remain the "Red Shirt Logs" hidden mini-featurettes, and Mike and Denise Okuda's episode text commentaries, not ported over from the original DVD releases.
