Star Trek is the 2010 basic, aka "vanilla", single-disc Blu-ray Disc release of Star Trek. Remarkably, this edition was released a year after the two/three-disc "special edition" release, which constituted a break with franchise tradition – predominantly employed for the DVD format – as this had until then been the other way around for the previous Star Trek films, Star Trek: The Motion Picture excepted. For the pursuant film releases, the franchise has dispensed with the "vanilla" releases for both the DVD and Blu-ray formats, making this release the only "vanilla" one for Blu-ray.

Special features[]

This release actually contained less special features than its one year earlier released DVD counterpart, which was even more uncommon as this was usually the other way around since the industry favored the new Blu-ray format.
