Star Trek - The Movies was a VHS collection - catalogue number VHR 4554, rated 15 - released by United International Pictures in the UK on 20 October 1997.

The collection featured the eight Star Trek films released at that point on six cassettes each mounted in its own individual plastic snapcase, along with the tribute Star Trek: 30 Years and Beyond, and came stored within a hardboard slipcase. Six of the eight films were presented on three double-feature tapes, the snapcases of each featuring a double front cover inlay. There were tentative plans to get a teaser trailer for Star Trek: Insurrection to be included on the set, but the film had not yet begun production. A trailer would appear on Star Trek - Greatest Battles.

The set was also released in the Dutch-speaking part of Europe (Netherlands/Flanders) with the same contents as the UK version, but with the original English soundtracks left intact and subtitled in Dutch as was usual for that territory. The collection was the first opportunity for UK/Benelux fans to own Star Trek: First Contact - the individual volume would not be released until 20 April 1998.

It was this set that came with the variant sixteen-page "Welcome Aboard: Your Passport to Adventure..." "booklet".

The UK/Benelux boxset was withdrawn from retail dissemination on 1 October 1999.

The previous year however, saw a third Star Trek – Die Kinofilme release in the German-speaking part of Europe with its soundtrack dubbed in German as was usual for that territory. That release though, differed from the two previous ones; first off it came in two four-tape boxes, consecutively released in 1998 and 1999, with each tape featuring only one film. The boxes were also differently executed; instead of a slipcase they were executed as a hardboard container box from which the top part could be removed to gain access to the tapes. The German box set furthermore lacked the 30 Years and Beyond tribute but had it proudly stated that theirs concerned the "Digitally Remastered" wide-screen[1] versions of the films with the exception of the first one. Originally, each box was retailed with only three films but with carton placeholders for the Star Trek: Der Film and Das unentdeckte Land VHS tapes, which had to be bought separately to complete the box set as a not too subtle money-grab scheme, an all too common 1990s practice by the Star Trek franchise.
