The Star Trek 50th Anniversary TV and Movie Collection (sometimes referred to as Star Trek: The Original Series - 50th Anniversary Limited Edition Box Set) is a DVD boxset, containing the two television series and the six Star Trek films relating to Star Trek: The Original Series.
An Australian Region 4 release, it is to date the only known DVD version of its Blu-ray counterpart, as no other DVD version has been released in any of the other regions.
Like its Blu-ray counterpart, the set collects previously-released material – albeit with new, unified disc art and repackaged into two Amaray cases in a softboard slipover cover, the two of them packaged side by side in the hardboard box, also containing artwork cards for the Original Series movies by Juan Ortiz, and an insignia badge.
Unlike its Blu-counterpart though, and the local retailer advertising notwithstanding, this set does not contain the then recently released Director's Cut of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan which had been released without DVD counterpart, but rather the older, 2002 Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (The Director's Edition) DVD. Likewise, the set does not carry the recently remastered Star Trek: The Animated Series, but the older 2007 DVD version, which however, retained the three text commentaries by Mike and Denise Okuda, not ported over to the remastered version. Neither has the Blu-ray bonus disc containing the exclusive, newly made five-part documentary, Star Trek: The Journey to the Silver Screen, been included in this set.
