The Star Trek Graphic Novel Collection was a graphic novel compilation partwork and product line that was available in a number of countries worldwide.

Released fortnightly until issue 65 and weekly thereafter, the series gathered many key moments from Star Trek's comic book history into hardcover volumes.

Eaglemoss/Hero Collector' Ben Robinson oversaw the publication as editorial manager, Réka Turcsányi and Rich Handley were its editors, Maggie Calmels was editorial director, and Terry Sambridge acted as design editor. Designers Ryan Cummings, Ross Jackson, Paul Montague, Steve Scanlan, and Jason Et; Tamara Dingsdale also contributed to the project.

The series encompassed a wide range of content and included Gold Key's first Star Trek comic books that were initially published in 1967, the British comic strips, and comic books from DC, IDW, Malibu, Marvel, Paramount, Tokyopop, and WildStorm. Movie adaptations were also covered in the series.

Comics gurus Bob Greenberger, Rich Handley, and James Swallow authored the introductory articles that prefaced each volume. Commencing with issue 72, Handley assumed editorship of the publication and authorship of these articles. [1]

Once combined, the spines of the full set of volumes formed a graphic of a fleet of starships, as seen in the image to the right. Many books incorporated the content of a modern Star Trek graphic novel with a classic comic book from the franchise's past, and each measured 175 × 260 mm.

As "Special Editions", the collection produced stand-alone "Crossover" volumes where Star Trek teamed up with another entertainment franchise in a comic series, such as Doctor Who and Planet of the Apes. Also released as Special Editions, a number of limited-run comic series were collected here as "Miniseries" compilations.

Photonovels and decorative novelty gifts were also produced for the collection.

In May 2020, Rich Handley announced that the partwork would be extended from 120 to 140 (regular) issues, and stated that if sales targets were reached, an extension to 160 issues was possible, providing space for the completion of all of the comics series offered within the collection. [2]

Ben Robinson indicated in October 2020 that sales of the last tranche of issues had not been strong enough to warrant a further extension, and stated that the line would conclude with the publication of issue 140. [3]

Handley added, "Within these 150 books, we've reprinted every story from Gold Key, the British strips, Peter Pan, the L.A. Times Syndicate, Marvel, Brazil's Editora Abril, Malibu, WildStorm, and Tokyopop, as well as numerous rarities and unpublished works along the way. But for DC and IDW, there's more to offer, and I wish we'd been able to bring you every single Trek comic from 1967 to the present (those not featuring X-Men, at least). We got pretty darn close!" [4]

Later, artists Jason and Tamara Dingsdale provided details and cover images of their unofficial fan-made versions of the cancelled books (volumes 141 to 160, Special Editions 7 to 10, and photonovel 5) to Wixiban.com, a noted Star Trek collectibles site. These twenty editions, however, were not based on Handley's plans for the series and were not authorized by Eaglemoss, Paramount, or CBS. [5]
