The Star Trek Logs were novelizations of the episodes of Star Trek: The Animated Series. Written by Alan Dean Foster, they were first published in the 1970s, and were re-released in omnibus form on three occasions. Across the original 10 volumes, all 22 episodes of the series were adapted, making TAS the first English-language TV series to have all of its episodes adapted in literary form. The book series initially followed a novella format, with several stories per volume. Towards the end of its run, however, Foster began expanding single half-hour episodes into full-length novels.
