The Star Trek films were the first franchise properties to be released on LaserDisc.
History[]
Starting in 1981 and ending in 2000, a total of nine films were released on LaserDisc in ten countries. The Motion Picture and The Voyage Home were also released with extra footage not seen in the theatrical cut of the films, bring the total number of cuts released up to eleven. Four countries released seven different box sets in the 1990s.
