Starfleet Mission Control

The Starfleet Mission Control insignia

Starfleet Mission Control was a division of Starfleet responsible for spacecraft flight control, including the NX Program test flights. Their motto was Res gesta per excellentiam.

"Res gesta per excellentiam", which translates to "Achieve through Excellence", is one of the mottoes of NASA's mission control.

The Starfleet Mission Control insignia was displayed among other mission patches at the 602 Club, hung on the wall of NX-Control and the NX-Beta hangar, and the starboard wing of the NX-Beta. (ENT: "First Flight")

The Greek sigma on the insignia is also taken from a former NASA mission control insignia. [1]
