Stephen Macht (born 1 May 1942; age 81) is the actor who played General Krim in the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine second season episodes "The Circle" and "The Siege". In 1987, Macht was considered for the role of Captain Jean-Luc Picard on Star Trek: The Next Generation and was considered for the role of Benjamin Sisko..[1]

In 2012, Macht was interviewed for the special Stardate Revisited: The Origin of Star Trek - The Next Generation, released on the first season blu-ray. He is the father of actor Gabriel Macht and the cousin of visual effects artist Jon Macht.

Macht starred in the films The Mountain Men (1980) and The Monster Squad (1987) and guest starred in Millennium (1998), Babylon 5 (1995), Sliders (1998 and 1999), and Suits (2014-2017). He was one of several Star Trek guest stars who appeared in DC 9/11: Time of Crisis (2003), along with Penny Johnson, George Takei, Gregory Itzin, Lawrence Pressman, and Scott Alan Smith.
